NLU Birdhouse: Downstairs

Located 100 yards from the 1st green at renowned Sweetens Cove Golf Club, No Laying Up has created the perfect getaway for avid golfers on more of a "Strapped" budget. The basement unit of the Birdhouse is a  two bedroom unit and is perfect for smaller groups looking to stay and play golf at one of America's most unique golf desitnations. The unit can be rented together with, or separately from, the upstairs unit. 

Within The Birdhouse, patrons will find plenty of space to rest, relax, and enjoy time with friends and family after a great day of golf. The house places an emphasis on comfort and function but was also designed as a real world extension of No Laying Up's community of avid golfers. 

Outside the house, architect Rob Collins, the co-designer of Sweetens Cove, has created the "10th hole" a teebox measuring 110 yards to the center of no. 1 green to give visitors a chance to play a little bit of "bonus golf" while hanging out on the laid back front deck overlooking the course. Both basement and upstairs guests enjoy access to the "10th hole."

The downstairs features two bedrooms that sleep three guests each (a set of bunk beds and a double bed in each room). The unit comfortably sleeps six. There are two newly renovated full bathrooms, a kitchen and a porch leading to the east side of the house.  The garage putting green and warm up area is shared with the upstairs unit and is the perfect place to safely store clubs and get ready for a big day of golf. 

Note: This unit is more basic than the upstairs unit (read: "Strapped" vibes), but we are making continual improvements as we go along (new refrigerator, dryer, garage putting green/warm-up area, and microwave were recently installed, as well as a large bar in the main room).  If plan to be on the course all day and looking for a place to hang a night and lay your head, this unit is perfect. If you're in the market for more C-suite accommodations, then book the upstairs unit.

Booking Passes for the Course

Groups booking the house for 2025 dates in the early booking window (September 27, 2024 to November 4, 2024) are guaranteed passes for all dates of your reservation. At the end of this window, we'll get a list of reservations over to the course and you'll receive a link to book your course passes. On November 5, passes will open to the general public and those who have not booked lodging. If you have any questions about passes or events CALL THE SHED: (423)-280-9692, and they will do what they can answer questions as they arise.

For open dates for the remainder of 2024, all guests need to visit Sweetens Cove website to book tee times and all day passes through the course. Please ensure you have this sorted before you book with us!

We'll work with guests in the event of closure of Sweetens Golf Club due to TVA flooding to come up with rainchecks and rescheduling.

The course is closed on Mondays, unless otherwise noted. In addition, dates in red below the course is closed to the public, either for maintenance or a private event. Dates in yellow are event days that are open to the public, so just bear that in mind when booking as you'll need to sign up for the event instead of getting passes like usual.
